Triplets Bodyweight Workout: 3x3x7
Hello and happy April, everyone!
I love the start of a new month, especially when it’s one that opens the door to spring! We’re finally moving out of winter here in Calgary, and while I’ve loved this last winter and ski season, it’s fun to welcome spring with open arms. A few fun memories of the winter include our 9th anniversary backcountry ski trip in BC, our hut trip in Jasper recently with Ryan and Susan, and our recent 6th annual Wellspring/YACC Young Adult Ski Day at Norquay!
It’s been a fun few months, but most of March was pretty cold and snowy, and I’m loving all the warm weather lately. Just to see the sun shining and feel the longer days has most people pretty happy and smiley! And so, with a new month comes that feeling of a fresh slate, and perhaps you’re also looking ahead, like me, and want to focus in on some goals. We don’t need January for that, so why not take some time to spring clean your home, fitness goals, professional direction and personal life? Along the fitness lines, I thought I’d share a workout you can do anywhere, with just your body weight, to give you something new to do in this new month!
It’s pretty simple: for each triplet you’ll complete 3 rounds and 7 reps per exercise. Modify as needed and have fun with this one!
For a (visual) breakdown of the exercises and some (verbal) modifications, check out the short video below:
I loved this workout because it didn’t take long, hit everything, and is in that sweet spot of more than 5 reps (typically not too challenging) but less than 10 reps (mentally more doable!), and I felt strong completing it! I think I’ll be using it as a go-to workout if I’m not sure what to do for a workout, or use the template and tweak the exercises (with dumbbells, the TRX or barbells as a change up!). Let me know if you guys give it a try this week!
And with that…welcome spring, and welcome strength! Is there anything you guys are looking forward to this month, whether that’s in the gym or outside of it? I’d love to know! I’m looking forward to warmer weather, outdoors runs, and hearing more birds chirp – it’s amazing how much quieter it is when the birds fly south for the winter.
Have a great week ahead and stay tuned for another fun blog post this week! Live well & be well,
Bonnie
