…you know it, I know it. ;) So…tell me why your Friday rocks, and then I’d love to hear why the rest of your weekend is going to rock! My Friday rocks because I got to sleep in and am not going to work until 2 pm (on the flip side, I train straight through until 6 pm – not too common for trainers on Fridays!). Why is my weekend going to rock? Because we are seeing someone every day – connecting with people we haven’t seen in a while – and we’re pumped for that community! As much as I love getting out to the mountains and getting dirty on the weekends, I also love to get out of my workout clothes (I live in them all week long) and go out every once and while.

Also, I got an unexpected email and was able to talk to my aunt and uncle who are just south of the border in Montana – and they’re coming to Calgary on Sunday! I can’t wait to spend the day with them (I’m her name sake – Big Bonnie & Little Bonnie) and can’t believe we’re getting to see family from California in Calgary!

Yesterday was a fun, full day. It looked a little something like this:

4:45 am: wake up, pack up gear and food for the day

5:15 am: drive to the train station, enjoy the sunrise through the windows as the city flashes by

Snapz Pro XScreenSnapz0035:45 am: arrive at work

6:00 am – 9:00 am: train 3 clients

[break: food, coffee, program prep, emails]

11:30 am: teach Plyo-Cardio class in the courtyard outside

1:15 pm: teach our new post-Stampede bootcamp class, outside

2:00 – 6:00 pm: train a partner session plus 3 back-to-back clients

7:30 pm: arrive (after training and driving) at Mikey’s boss’ house for a BBQ (1 glass of red wine) :)

9:00 pm: home! (ice cream) :)

Whew! What a day. I was nervous about teaching classes as I’ve only really led small groups (and music? and high energy? and shouting? I wasn’t sure if I was that kind of trainer) – as evidenced by this photo:

But you know what? The classes and full client load went really well! They were fun (for me at least!), challenging, and I even made my own playlist (it worked!) and yelled just a little. ;) The day finished and I was reminded of God’s faithfulness and felt proud and confident – something I don’t always feel as a trainer (it’s easy to compare yourself and sometimes I pigeonhole myself into being able to do certain things and not others). All in all, a great way to finish the day and I’m thankful for busy times and work from the Lord!

Today I thought I’d share a few fun links from the week – hopefully you enjoy them as much as I did!

  • I loved Gina‘s “Confessions of a Group Fitness Instructor,” especially after teaching 2 classes yesterday. Made me smile and I could totally relate, even simply as a personal trainer!
  • Did you know that Bob Harper’s FitFluential? You better believe it! Check out this short video from Kristin and a great protein-packed muffin recipe too.
  • Lindsay has been hosting a week of giveaways on her blog (Happy 1st Birthday, Lindsay’s List – and go enter all her great giveaways!) and today’s was something special for any blogger out there: the chance to win a free blog header redesign from the talented Holly! Check out Lindsay’s post and enter to win if you’re a blogger in need of a site facelift (like me!).
  • Tina does a weekly installment of “link love” on Fridays and there are ton of good links filled with healthy recipes, workouts, and interesting articles; pop over to her post to see for yourself!

And that’s about all I got! Have any fun links to share? Leave ‘em below! Any fun weekend plans? Tell me something you’re looking forward to or the best part of your week and have a happy, healthy weekend! Live well & be well,

Bonnie

I have two things I’m excited about this weekend. The first is that I actually get to see my husband for two whole days! (That’s amazing for us!) And, we’re taking some friends on a text message led walking tour of Portland. Should be super fun. Oh, and I’m going to cook stuff. So, husband, friends, and being domestic. Sounds pretty good to me!
