A Day in the Life: My Feet
In case you missed instalment one (wife!) and two (an immigrant!), check them out before enjoying today’s A Day In the Life: My Feet!

A few hours to rest and we’re back at it again! The socks slide on and we’re relieved – she put new ones on today! Whew. I don’t care how you look at it; 3 days in a row is just too many for us to handle. Sure, we get our moments of relaxation:

but more often than not, we take a daily beating but wouldn’t have it any other way!

From the moment she’s awake, we’re moving. Walking through the living room in freshly shod slippers (we love this!), running up the stairs on the way out the door, popping into the comfy canvas flats to get to the train on time…we move her. It’s what we do!

From Vibrams to New Balance, TOMS to bare feet, Bonnie really loves to keep us engaged with something to do: squats, jumps, long runs, leg lifts, walks – she seems to like the motion more than the rest. She also likes to explore when she gets the chance, it’s because of us that she’s able to visit new places and move over different landscapes.

Most of the time we’re okay with it, but at the end of some days we are ready for less of this:

…and more of this:

We may protrude sideways because of our bunions and may not be pretty, but we’re okay with that because we represent hard work, miles ran and lots of adventures; we (or Bonnie) wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thanks to my feet for putting up with all my abuse – I think a pedicure might just be coming your way soon.

Why are you grateful for your feet? Are you a fan of high heels, flat, bare feet, or runners? I’m grateful that my job, while it does mean being on my feet all day, keeps me in comfortable shoes!
Hope you guys are having a great week! I am glad tomorrow’s Friday and have a full day and weekend ahead as we finish our preparations for this year’s Survive & Thrive kayaking expedition! Have a great end to your week,
Bonnie

I’m all for barefeet as much as possible
only time I have shoes on is for running (minimalist trail shoes) or my yoga sandals or California Footwear Co. sandals when I have to go out in public and wear shoes! lol

Ahh bare feet – love the rough summer feet of being outside with no shoes all day.
Enjoy your feet freedom!

This is such a cute post and love the pictures! I definitely don’t give my feet the respect and care they need all the time but I definitely am grateful for them and all that they allow me to do. I hate heels and usually wear flats.

Happy Friday to you too, Heidi!
Thanks Miz! My feet miss California weather, that’s for sure.
Enjoy bare feet for me!
my feet like it best when they are free of confinement. No shoes or flip flops. Now that’s how they were meant to be
