Well it has been an unbelievable low key weekend for the Langs! After a solid session with two sisters who worked.it.hard, I headed over to a new client’s home in the NW area of the city and enjoyed a great consultation. I absolutely love training…the motivating part, the encouraging part, the informing and helping part, the life-changing part in which I’m really so blessed to play a role. Training house-to-house is so fun for me too, but while I enjoy it and the freedom to train others in my own style and according to my own schedule, I still have lots of time left in my week. That’s why soon, something might be changing on that front…I won’t keep you in the dark too long but will fill you in when I can!
What fires you up? What is something YOU’RE passionate about?
(My feature about what I do as an in-home personal trainer in case you missed it!)
After a very productive morning, I reverted to lazy Saturday mode and absolutely enjoyed a rest day from workouts/runs and the chance to hang around in the basement with my man. Unfortunately, it was a gorgeous day outside, but he had just returned from a busy overnighter for work in Edmonton and I was content to let my body rest for the day. Some highlights of Saturday included:
- Talking with my mom on the phone. I just love her so much and getting the chance to chat was just really great.
- Dying my hair. This is how I bring summer back or try to advance it during the winter: I go blonde(r) with a cheap-o bottle of bleach from Superstore.
- Movie time! Mikey and I LOVE going to movies, especially when we can pay $5 for one instead of $12, and saw the new Mission Impossible movie at the cheap theatres. I loved the movie – spy movies are.my.favorite – heist movies too. The bigger the jewel to steal and the greater the challenge the better! There we ran into 2 other couples who we know who were in the same theatre as us! Fun.
Are you a movie-goer? It’s funny; as much as I love the outdoors, I’ll almost never turn down a good movie – it’s so fun for Mikey and I to go together and we love the whole experience, especially sneaking snacks in! This weekend we brought in sunflower seeds, a few gummies, an apple each and a pudding. It was a snack/meal.
Truth be told, Sunday was more of the same for us – an early morning at church (we’re greeters now! We love serving in that way and shaking people’s hands as they come in) and then lots of coffee shop lounging/reading/dozing in the streaming sunshine through the large windows.
I prepped my clients’ workouts for the week, enjoyed a tea and a gigantic grapefruit (brought from home), and also worked on my Bible study (we’re going through the book of James and I’m absolutely LOVING the in-depth study Tuesday mornings!). Mikey finished a book he was reading on Lawrence of Arabia and then we did some computer work. Hard to believe it’s already getting into the evening! Another low key day indeed.
When you go to a coffee shop, do you laptop-it, book-it, or journal-it?
We’re packing up to head home soon and I’m contemplating a short, mini workout for the night – I go pretty stir-crazy with two back-to-back rest days without any movement! Fill me in on your weekend – the ups, the downs, the low-key-ness or crazy-ness! Quick shout-out to my inspiring friend, Heather, who rocked her marathon today and finished with over a 20 minute PR only a month after running her first 50K race! …incredible, Heather.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post on FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT and a video challenge… Until then, live well & be well guys! Catch ya on the flip side,
